Ellie's First Taste Of Rice Cereal

The faces she made were hilarious! She had her first taste of rice cereal on October 14th. After about a week of that I started introducing fruits and veggies... so far she has had applesauce, peaches, bananas, sweet potatoes (which she LOVES), and green beans.

Weekend

First of all I just noticed I have gone up from 7 followers to 9.. so whoo hoo! LOL Thanks for making me feel loved <3 :P

And now to my post...

We had such a fun weekend!

Friday my husband arranged for the inlaws to watch the kids so we could go out. We had planned on going to a concert at the Christian Family Centre in Adrian because they gave Titus a free pass... but since all the seats sold out and we didn't feel like standing for 3 hours we decided to skip the concert. Instead we went to steak and shake and had a yummy dinner and shake :)

Saturday the inlaws watched the kids again so I could head over to The Mill in Onsted and help out with their fall festival! I did face painting and had a blast! I also ended up winning all 3 of the raffle items I signed up for! LOL I left at 1pm, picked up the kids and headed back over there to let TJ enjoy some of the games and to see the tractors and firetruck.

Today we went to church, picked up a car ( yes.. another vehicle for our driveway :P), and TJ had a "popsicle party" with his aunties and Grandpa Bill. The party was all TJ's idea. We found a 100 count box of popsicles at CVS for $.39 on clearance, so they had probably like 5 mini popsicles each..lol. He played outside all day while Titus worked in the yard and me and Ellie cleaned and played in the house.

Now my sister is over here and we are gonna watch a movie and eat yummy chocolatey goodness :) Yay for ice cream!

Apple Picking!

Last Sunday afternoon we took TJ apple picking at Kapnick's Orchard. It has become a family tradition to go there in the fall , pick apples, and get some of their yummy cider, doughnuts, and apple fritters! The picture above is us waiting to go on our wagon ride out to the apple orchard.

Here is TJ before we got on the wagon... he is such a goofy guy!

This is TJ picking apples... he had such fun!

Daddy let Ellie suck on her first apple. It was actually pretty funny.... I guess she thought it was yummy, so whenever Titus took it away from her mouth she cried and cried and as soon as he put it back she was happy again :)

Me and Titus <3

The boys hunting for apples...

We had such a good time that day. After we went apple picking, we ate some chinese ( TJ's favorite) and then headed home to relax before going out and chopping/stacking firewood.

Now.. off to figure out what yummy things I want to make with all these apples .... :)

Day Out With Mommy Under $10

Thought I would give this a try today with my two kiddos to see if it could be done.

Well it can. :P

First off, we went to the Jackson 10 Theater to watch Marmaduke with my brother Josh. During the fall they have FREE matinee's on Saturday's at 9am and 10am. I also am a part of their frequent movie goer program, so I get discounted concessions. We ended up getting a 130 oz popcorn and 44 oz pop to share for $4.34.

After the movie TJ, Ellie and I went to the mall to walk around. TJ got to look at toys in Toys 'R Us and I let him pick something out at the Dollar Tree. He got a Cars paint by number and we picked out an adorable ladybug stuffed animal for Ellie for $2.12.

Then we headed to Bath and Body Works to get me a few goodies! :) I got a free 2oz sample of their new Secret Wonderland lotion , a Candy Corn pocket hand sanitizer, and a 3oz bottle of sweet pea body spray for a total of $1.59!

From Bath and Body Works we headed to Target to see what kind of deals we could get with our remaining $1.95... and we came across a bag for strawberry marshmallows on clearance for $.86!! TJ has been BEGGING me to buy him some of those but at over $2 a bag I have refused to do so.. but for $.86... why not? :D

When we got home we used the marshmallows to make strawberry rice krispy treats and they were soooo yummy!

We ended up having a super fun day and came home with $1.09 left over.

Slacking

I have been slacking on the postings lately. So much has been going on here though, so I have an excuse!! LOL

I have a ton of new Ellie and TJ's pics to post, so look for those in the next day or two.

Titus has been working like crazy... when he isn't doing his electrical job he is helping someone else out or working on one of his projects here at home. I have been busy with the kids, running errands and housework. TJ has been enjoying school very much, and Ellie is growing like a weed.

Will be back later with pics and more updates!

A Day Of First's

Today was TJ's first day of kindergarten. He woke up before 6am and came in to me and Titus' room to see if it was time to get ready and go yet. LOL He was so excited!

Here are a few pics we took before we left for school:

Once we got to school , he put his coat and backpack in his locker and put his owl card in it's pocket to let the teacher know he was there.
Then he went to check out his seat at the table and he found a note for mommy and his first assignment!
He sat down and started working on it right away!

While he was working on his assignment.. I took a few pics of his classroom.

When I was ready to leave and went to say goodbye he didn't even look up from the paper he was working on.. he just said.. "bye mom!" I gave him a kiss although he was all wiggly and not wanting me too..lol.

I held it together until I got out to the car and read his teacher's letter. Inside I found a cotton ball, tissue, and peppermint tea bag.

This is what the letter said:
"Here is a little "gift" for you as you leave your precious one with me on the first day of school. As you hold this cotton ball in your hand, the softness will remind you of the gentle spirit of your child. After you've gone home or to work, dry your tears and make yourself a hot cup of tea. relax and rest assured that together you and I will work for your child to be the best he can be. Thank you for entrusting TJ to me for the coming school year. I will do my very best every day to be your child's guide in learning and exploring this bright, new world he has just stepped into."

Of course that was all it took to make me shed a tear or two!

He only had a half day today so I was back at 11:30am to pick him up. When he came out of his classroom he was all smiles and was eager to show me the project he made and his take home folder. He talked about school ALL the way home and is ready to go back again tomorrow.

Ellie also had a first today. Her first laugh :) I was walking out of her room playing with her after we arrived home from school and she gave me the cutest giggle. Her eyes were sparkling and she had such a huge grin.

And later after daddy got home she laughed again when she and I started to "chase" TJ around the yard. She thinks her brother is the most interesting thing! LOL... she loves to watch him and he gets most of her smiles :)
